This work explores themes of time and mortality, reflecting on humanity’s fixation with measuring time and the ways our lives revolve around it. As we track time, the piece suggests a quiet reversal. Time, in turn, watches us. This painting marks the first appearance of a recurring visual motif that Tommy revisits throughout later works. The piece measures 24 × 36 inches and is rendered in oil on wood panel, built up with thick, expressive layers applied using a palette knife.
